The sheet metal box

All our knives are delivered in nice black cardboard box, which goes fine as a gift. If you are looking for more precious box for a gift or collector models, it can be bought separately. We did look for a long time someone here in Finland to make us a nice box from wood or sheetmetal, but without success. So finally we found same solution as always, we made it by ourselves. Inspiration was found from old army ammunition boxes and 1920´s race car hoods. Press tools were made with our own milling cutter, made in 1947. Asymmetric press is almost same age. Sheetmetal is 0,5 mm thick and it is welded together. Cover material can be chosen from same sheetmetal or polished brass. Cover is closed by pressing it down and it can be removed completely. Cover is secured by two natural leather straps, same material than is used in our sheaths. Box is available in few colors, most popular models are patinated army green, silky black, black box with polished brass cover and varnished model where sheetmetal shows with welding marks. Box is very solid and robust, some roughness is left on purpose. They are completely made by ourselves in our own factory at Kauhava Finland, which is also verified by Iisakki Järvenpää Kauhava stamp on the cover.
