The Pikkuvuolu

The Pikkuvuolu is a little smaller version of Vuolupuukko, intended to smaller hands. Otherwise these models are same, blade is polished carbon steel and traditional Hook-handle is made from curly birch and treated with linseed oil for good feeling and grip. This model is from the beginning of 1920´s. The sheath is also as traditional model as this knife and same model than bigger Vuolu knife has. It is made of vegetable oil tanned natural light brown bull skin. Carbon steel is sharp and quite easy to maintain sharp, but on the other hand it needs some care and attention. The blade must be dried after every use and we recommend to apply some cooking oil over it. Knife may never be left into sheath if it is wet. Total length 21cm, knife 18cm, blade 8,5cm.
