It is now 100 years since we got a request from British Scouts, they wanted own knife model for all Scouts around the world. It should not be like traditional Kauhava knife but have international design, strong fingerguard and a safety device that knife could not fall out from the sheath. Scout knives were released for Christmas 1925 and it has been very popular model for us and also very widely copied all over the world.
To celebrate this 100 years joyrney we made a small special series from two smaller Scout knives. Scout knives have a varnished handle made from vegetable oil tanned cowhide, left overs from sheaths. These numbered special editions are black, so the handle is black leather. The blade is black carbon steel, the color comes from 800 degrees C heat treatment owen and it is just left unpolished. The sheath is also black leather. The pommel is casted aluminium, standard Scout knife model. Handles have orange stripes on Kolkka Scout and red stripes on Scout knives, both made from cardboard.
Anniversary knives are numbered, only 15 Kolkka Scout and 12 mid size Scout knives are made.
