DC Association has been established to maintain DC-3 aircraft and preserve the related knowledge in Finland. DC-3 OH-LCH flies members about 50 hours a year. The aircraft is owned by Airveteran Ltd, operated and serviced by DC Association. For more information see www.dc-ry.fi Jahtipartio was selected for DC-puukko due it has common issues with DC-3 aircraft, known as "The finest airplane that ever was built or ever will be built by man." Scout knife blade has influence from USA´s civil war era Bowie knife, it has fittings made of aluminium, like the DC-3. Both are designed in the same time period and both have been very famous all over the world for decades. Knife is hand made in Kauhava and it has 15 cm polished carbon steel blade, the handle is build up from stacked leather layers and it surface is then sanded and varnished. Top end is typical scout model "hook" ferrule, made of cast aluminium. Finger protection plate on the lower end of the handle is pressed from aluminium sheet. Sheat is made of light brown vegetable tanned finnish bull leather, it has steel reinforcement in the tip. Upper end of the sheat has riveted steel plate with engraving OH-LCH, the registeration of DC-3 supported by DC-association. This plate is inspired by aircraft identification plate. Sheat has also figure of DC-3 aircraft, seen from front, DC-ry text and old Aero Oy logo, given for DC-yhdistys ry´s use. Aero Oy was a name of airline known today as Finnair and it used to operate this aircraft. DC-Puukko is created to honor old machines, equipment, heritage and those who work to keep them all alive.

The villagers and boys were amazed and in awe when a huge oddity rolled down the road in September, 1922. Alfred Kosola’s horses had to tax their strength when drawing a sleigh with an indenting hammer of 5.000 kilograms, along the snowless road to the Järvenpää’s factory. The cubs’ imagination really took over, when they began to hear a constant pounding from the factory. It was like an iron giant’s sledgehammer banging.
