Knives can be really different, made for different purpose and taste. Biggest differences are usually thematerial and length of the blade and shape, size and material of the handle. Heta is a model which has many special features combined, but most importantly it is designed for women.
Only 128 Heta knives are made. Why 128, is there some meaning behind that figure? We found a box from our basement, inside 142 pommels to knife end from first half of 1900´s. Some of those did not survive and we got 128 knives completed. All knives are numbered and we will not make more of these ever.
We have often women in our store asking for sharpening. We have heard that husband has promised to sharpen it for five years, "I will take care of it, there is no reason to take it anywhere, I can do it myself". We solved that problem, Heta knife has free sharpening service for ever. If you take it to us, it will be always sharpened free of charge. Of course it can also be sent to us and we charge only return shipping cost. No receipt or any other document is required, we will know what it is.
Heta knife has slightly thinner blade than our whittle knives and it is care free stainless steel. The handle is also from special material. It is made from ebonite, which is our old storage from year 1912. The handle is sanded to fit a woman's hand. All surfaces except the blade are left unpolished satin matt. Black sheath has nickel silver plate on the top with "Heta" engraving. The blade has engraved serial number (1/128-128/128).
Ruostumattomassa terässä lukee etsattuna teksti "stainless steel".
Carbon steel blade is corrosion protected with oil. The oil must be carefully removed before any use with grocery. Blade must be cleaned and dried after every use. We recommend using oil for corrosion protection. If the knife is left wet inside the sheath, it will get black markings and even rust. If you use knife with foodstuff, use eatable oil for example sunflower or rapeseed oil. Olive oil may be too acidic and affect marks on blade.
The kitchen and fish knives as well as the Game knife are made of stainless steel, which does not require oiling.
