We have waited a long time for this blog, now we finally have it open. We will release news, all kind of happenings and spotlights of our life in the factory for all who is interested. This blog is not intended as an advertisement but certainly we can promise it will include product placement!
Our former website, released 2015, was almost collapsing for a long time but we have been working on this new site. By the quick look there are only small differences but below the surface all is new. It will be easier to use and the functions are clearer. The best of all, it will give us a chance to add better pictures and videos for you. There still might be breaks and faults in the site but we are working on it all the time.
Resolution of our pictures will be much better, long lost zoom function works again, and we also will have videos of making different parts available on products. Videos are best way to show how we work and do things. It is also the best way to show that we make all parts ourselves, everything is Finnish handcraft. This blog is also homemade, not by advertisement agent or social media guru.
New releases are not coming every day, not even every week but only when we have something to say or show. Next one will most likely be about our birthday 20th October when factory turns 140 years old. That day is Sunday so we are waiting many of you to visit, have a cake, coffee and sausages over the fire with us. The factory tours are also available, but no speeches or self-congratulatories.
The villagers and boys were amazed and in awe when a huge oddity rolled down the road in September, 1922. Alfred Kosola’s horses had to tax their strength when drawing a sleigh with an indenting hammer of 5.000 kilograms, along the snowless road to the Järvenpää’s factory. The cubs’ imagination really took over, when they began to hear a constant pounding from the factory. It was like an iron giant’s sledgehammer banging.
