Positive problems

This time of the year is our most busiest time of the year. Summer is full of travellers, continuing to hunting and trekking season, then father´s day and now we are already waiting for Santa´s coming.

20th Oct we had 140 years anniversary for Iisakki Järvenpää factory and our knife production, but also for Kauhava knives too. We were surprised how many visitors we had, all factory tours full, we run out of cakes, fortunately we could get more sausages from local store. We really had great time, thanks to all who visited us. Feedback was really warming, it became clear that our work is greatly appreciated. The delivery of preordered 140-years anniversary knives started on the same day. Here is some product placement: We still have some 140 years Anniversary knives left and they are available in factory store and our webstore!

In the past the number 1. of numbered anniversary knives has been given to someone in remarkable position, President, minister etc. Couple of years ago we decided that we would not give them just by some political position but some remarkable person due action she or he had made. Number 1/140 of 140-years anniversary knives was given to Seppo Parviainen who has been working for 48 in same company for better or worse. This company is Iisakki Järvenpää Osakeyhtiö. He started in the knife factory at age of 15 and is about to retire during this winter. He is a great role model for all of us but could also show great example of working moral to all people.

Jenni works in position called Traveller. She´s doing just that, travelling around the country visiting companies. Her goal is of course to sell beautiful and durable gifts to companies with their logo on it to be given to their employees, customers and business associates. Knives have done that since late 1800´s, unfortunately plastic revolution ruined that market for decades but now we are back on track. Handcrafted natural materials are appreciated again, but most of all product that is used for many years in best moments of life like trekking, hunting, fishing and dinner tables leaves for sure better memory than pile of plastic or headache.

Traditionally we have had Christmas markets in the factory yard. We have 20 sheds which is offered for free to anyone who sells self made products. Unfortunately this year we had just few sellers willing to come, so the market was cancelled.

Now we continue full throttle towards Christmas. We also prepare Course knives to Reserve Officer course #255 who will have their knives in February. This new website has been up and running for few weeks and feels very positive as well.

Remember to write to Santa very soon that we can have all deliveries on time, without a stress to anyone. And of course, be nice!
