Aito Ystävä
AVAILABLE AGAIN IN WEEK 1 / 2021
Aito ystävä, Real or genuine friend in Finnish. This is our special model for Valetine´s day. It is based on our very popular and beautiful model Aito-puukko, which has additional heart made into the handle with traditional method called intarsia. Brass is first made 0,11 mm thin and 5 mm wide pieces, it is shaped to heart with pliers and very carefully tapped with a small hammer inside the birch bark handle. Like Aito-puukko, the handle is treated with linseed oil so it has real nice feeling and is not slippery even when wet. Sheath for this special model can be chosen dark brown or black. The blade is left black and it is 8 cm long carbon steel. Heart is hand made so shape and location in the handle may vary from the ones in pictures.

The villagers and boys were amazed and in awe when a huge oddity rolled down the road in September, 1922. Alfred Kosola’s horses had to tax their strength when drawing a sleigh with an indenting hammer of 5.000 kilograms, along the snowless road to the Järvenpää’s factory. The cubs’ imagination really took over, when they began to hear a constant pounding from the factory. It was like an iron giant’s sledgehammer banging.
